Excuse me, I just have to…
hum of furnace heard in background
… ah, that’s better. Today is October 1st and I have turned on my furnace. Call me a wimp if you will, but my nose is cold and our windows leak, and wool socks and mitties and blankets only go so far. (The thermostat is only at 70, by the way.)
This is the thing that’s been eating my brain and making me post all late. My work (a public library) is putting on this thing called The Big Read, and I’m helping to coordinate it. We’re reading Poe. It’s very fun, but very busy. You may notice a total lack of knitting content this week.
This is the wall of one of the banks in the downtown DeKalb area. I love this wall and have probably photographed it before, but the texture is so much fun.
Miyagi on the movie, with purse and kitty fishing toy.
The library celebrated its fireplace’s restoration. Sadly, this is the only picture I took that day.
On Friday we met the newest addition to our friends’ family, one Henry. He made sweet faces at NinjaHusband and cuddled with me, and made our day. Congratulations Lindsay and Ryan!
On Saturday we hung out with family and played Beatles Rock Band with friends, and the best picture I have is this one of Casey and Anna curled up together, avoiding the loud noises coming from the crazy humans in the room. Let it be known that it was Carin’s birthday and I had to pick her up and haul her over to the microphone to sing. And she sang awesomely.
On Sunday, our Stitch & Bitch group met at a new bar and Michelle worked on her first socks. First socks are like magic.
That’s all I have, because I need to go find the flannel sheets and the electric blanket.
